Welcome to Vector Graphics

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is an introduction to vector illustration using the leading software product: Adobe Illustrator CS. Emphasis will be placed on mastering Illustrator techniques using the pen tool, layers, combining shapes, simulation of spatial depth, PostScript image preparation for commercial printing and concepts of good design
INSTRUCTIONAL METHOD:
A course syllabus and calendar are provided. Printed guidelines and requirements are provided for each creative project. Project deadlines are important and must be respected. Late projects result in grading penalties.
Course material and learning experiences are provided through lectures, demonstrations, class discussions, reading, exercises, creative projects and critiques. A strong emphasis is placed upon individual assistance for technical and creative development.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
You will understand the use of vector graphics using the Illustrator pen tool and the place of vector graphics in the world of graphic design.
